John Esquivel 0922
1. Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Or, do you know of someone who claims to have had one? How would you explain it rationally? Does the Chandian Effect apply? I have been subjected to a thought experience or dream-sequence that I thought was affected by paranormal activity. The reason I cannot identify whether it was a dream or a thought was because I do not remember what it was. It exists as a memory in my mind. On to the story: So after my Godmother died of natural causes a few years ago, I was visited by her ghost in the middle of the night. For some reason, I have a recollection of her talking to me and leaving me with a certainty that she is in a better place. As to the Chandian Effect correlation, my encounter would be described as a dream sequence affected by my belief in another world, "heaven" and that to its effect, spirits do exist. 2. Think of your own astrological sign and find a horoscope that pertains to you. Does it fit? How would a critical thinking explain it? My birthday falls on November 12, which would place me under the zodiac sign of Scorpio. To put in layman's term I have excerpted the following general characteristics from Urban Dictionary: "According to astrology, Scorpios are introspective, reflective, mysterious, vengeful, calculating, possessive, intuitive". Today specifically, I will encounter random acts skepticism, so I must be clear with my words and ideas. I also will benefit much from gratitude. I do believe my personal traits align with these predictions of a Scorpio, however, critically thinking, I do not believe that I was born strictly with these traits. As a matter of fact, I attribute most of my personal traits to be attributed to my personal and environmental experience rather than a predisposition.
3. If an intelligent alien did indeed visit this planet and came over to your house, what do you think he would find most odd about human behavior? I believe human behavior is dissimilar to other beings in the world because of the way we communicate. When, if it does happen, an extra-terrestrial encounters our species, it will find our way of talking to be quite an oddity. Our language has allowed us to advance our own species. By communicating with other beings of our own kind, we develop minds that can have shared experiences. Aliens would be awe-stricken at our use of language and the way we express our thoughts with each other.

Film Test #4
1.Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Or, do you know of someone who claims to have had one? How would you explain it rationally? Does the Chandian Effect apply? I personally, have not had a paranormal experience, but my sister Carmen has. My sister claims that one night while sleeping downstairs in our parents house my grandmother came to her with wise words to live by. Seeing how my grandmother passed away years ago and her ashes currently reside in our home we didn't see it as a big deal. My sister spoke very passionately of her experience and truly believe she was there with her in the flesh. But how could that be possible? With the help of Chadians’ Effect i cam to the conclusion that my sister was not seeing my grandmother, in fact she was seeing a projection of something she believed. Since my sister was open to the idea of a visit from our late grandmother it was clear that this was something she created in her own self conscious and an experience she will never forget.
2. Think of your own astrological sign and find a horoscope that pertains to you, Does it fit? How would a critical thinking explain it? “You've been putting a tremendous amount of energy into your career and life goals and committing to the long haul. The only downside is that you've been a bit all work and no play, dear. You're so ready for a serious break and more you-time in 2015.” I usually find pleasure in reading my horoscope. I find that it relates to my current situation, I currently work full time as well as being enrolled in school full time. I am always busy and I have convinced myself that what I want in life take will take commitment and a lot of self-sacrifice. But how many other people in the world could be going through the same thing. Just because I am a capricorn means that this message only pertains to me? I believe these words are so vague and open to be interpreted to something that can be easily applied to anyones life.
3. If an intelligent alien did indeed visit this planet and came over to your house, what do you think he would find must odd about human behavior? If an alien ever visited my home I think the thing he would find the most strange is television. I think the he would be in awed at the amount of television many of us watch on a daily bases. We have so many great things in this world and the chance to see, created and be apart of new things. He would think we are all lazy and not taking advantage of the opportunities we have.

Test 4
1. Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Or, do you know of someone who claims to have had one? How would you explain it rationally? Does the Chandian Effect apply? I have yet to have some sort of paranormal experience, but instead heard of a rather interesting scenario regarding my girlfriends old soccer teammate from high school. She describes her paranormal experience by believing her house to be haunted by a little boy. It all started with a family photo being taken and there happened to be a "ghostly figure" of a boy squeezed besides there legs. I have yet to have seen the picture but my girlfriend Isabella explained quite frankly, that it ran chills down her spine. Her friend and family firmly believe that their house is indeed haunted even with the continuous blessings they do to their house. Her friend explains that she could here unfamiliar noises coming through out the house. Her friend also has a case of chronic sleep paralysis. Her friends describes these baffling occurrences as "demons" that haunt her house and hold her back while she's sleeping. My girlfriend explained to me that her friend and her family are known to be religious and I believe I can explain this in a more logical context. From what the source tells me I believe the "Chandian Effect" definitely applies. Knowing that her and her family are religious there is no doubt in anyones mind that when seeing a picture with a manifested little boy would be completely mind boggling. I believe that Chandian Effect does apply because it very clearly paints a picture on their religious beliefs therefore putting out images and assumptions of "demons". Hearing strange noises around the house and believing their are demons or the little boy is just another example of how the Chadian Effect paints a picture for our own mind. Going back to what Professor Lane would say it is not like the "ghostly figure" decided it was time to take a picture let me freak these people out. For example if a spider were to land on your arm human instinct would have someone flick it as fast as they can. But for myself and many other people their will still be that eery feeling of something crawling all over you, but their isn't anything really there. It is all just a game on how the mind plays tricks with our eyes.
2. Think of your own astrological sign and find a horoscope that pertains to you. Does it fit? How would a critical thinking explain it? My astrological sign is "Libra" and I did find some horoscopes that happened to pertain to my life. One horoscope that I found very intriguing was a Libra enjoys books and and philosophical study. It also included things like kinds, work to buy pleasant things, etc. When understanding Libra i could think of past situations on how I've felt or done something. I believe the brain analyzes what it is reading and fills in the gap of "this is me" when reading someones astrological sign. I thought and what if I changed the month and see what another astrological sign would be. Without a doubt within all twelve of the astrological signs their was always a few particular traits that pertained to me. It would not be all of them but a few from each one. I think that we trace back steps or refer to current things happening in our daily lives that encourages humans to believe what they are reading. I believe one must interpret all aspects of anything before making a decision, that includes looking through every astrological sign and reading its horoscopes, because who knows you might be all of them. Despite an individuals birthday to determine who someones traits are. 3. If an intelligent alien did indeed visit this planet and came over to your house, what do you think he would find most odd about human behavior? I think what an alien would find odd is our mind set and the interest of an average human being. That society worries about traffic, work, world problems, war, health and our limited mind set to what we call "life." I think it would be so advanced knowing that it got here that us humans haven't been farther than the moon itself. I believe we would be frowned upon that us as one species living on one planet fight with one another rather than understanding the bigger picture of what is around us. An intelligent alien would probably abhor the human ethics of todays world, therefore probably destroying it because if we were to ever leave this planet they would probably want nothing to do with us.

Critical Thinking Code: 0922
I personally never experienced a paranormal experience but my great grandma has. She told me that her third child was a miscarriage. She told me how heartbroken she was because she wasn't even able to hold her baby. After a week or so she told me that her room at night would become very cold, which was strange since it was the middle of August. One night the cold woke her up but she couldn't move because she felt frozen. She struggled to move and when she looked down she saw her baby laying on her chest. I was kind of freaked out by the story but a rational way of thinking is that she was traumatized over her child's death. I think the Chandian Effect applies because she believed that her dead baby was lost and couldn't go to heaven because he/she never knew a mother's warmth or love and that God wanted her to pray for the baby. She was so sure that she prayed every hour of every day until she stopped feeling the chills and the sleep paralysis went away.
I found a horoscope for 2015 and it states that Cancer's self, career, family, and love life will be very promising. My career is supposed to "take off any moment". My love life might get a "little rocky" but I have to make sure that I don't get "too clingy" because Cancers are too emotional. None of these make any sense to me in my current state of life. I'm not an emotional person, if anything I am a bit on the indifferent side. I think horoscope is just a gimmick because of two reasons. One, it's not backed up by concrete science and two, it uses such broad generalizations about people's generalizations. The whole thing about how your destiny is in the stars is a romantic notion but it is not practical. I mean if everything was written in the stars, we would have gotten through the centuries a whole lot easier.
If an alien came to Earth and found that humans were the most intelligent and powerful creature I think they would find that believable. However I think they would find us extremely unusual. If aliens were anything like us, in personality, it may be safe to assume that there are good people and bad people. I also think they might be confused on some things. For example, humans drink breast milk as children and then when they grow up, they drink other animals breast milk, which we just call "milk". The aliens might also be disappointed. If they could find our planet, it means that they are most likely a lot more technologically advanced. They also might be disgusted with the way we treat our planet. We take too much of the planet's resources and take them for granted and plague the planet with wars and violence. Yet at the end of the day, they might be able to appreciate humanity for what it is, a species that tries to make the most of what it has while struggling with their inner demons.

Chris Flores Professor Lane Philosphy 8 / Critical Thinking 22 March 2013 Code: 0922 Film Questions 4
1. Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Or, do you know of someone who claims to have had one? How would you explain it rationally? Does the Chandian Effect apply?
The only paranormal experience I have had was when I was very young. I was sleeping in an apartment and at night I would hear sounds coming from the kitchen. It sounded like pots and pans being moved across the counter top and occasionally bumping into each other. This would always go on for a few minutes, and then eventually stop. I led myself to believe that it was a spirit that was moving the pots and pans. However, these apartments were located in a town that was not quite kept clean all of the time. It was also much more common to see wildlife in this town. It is quite possible that it was not a spirit that was moving the pots and pans, but rather a mouse or a rat that had found its way into the panty, probably from some hole in the wall, or roof. That would allow the mouse to come and go as it pleases, so it would have been able to come in at night, go through the pots and pans looking for food, and then leave before daybreak. The Chandian Effect probably does not apply here, since I was never able to see what was causing the noises, only hear it, so it is less likely that I was projecting something that was not really there.
2. Think of your own astrological sign and find a horoscope that pertains to you. Does it fit? How would a critical thinker explain it?
This horoscope does indeed fit me, listing some of the things I encountered today and things I had to deal with. It also lists some key points of my personality and the way I like to do things. However, the horoscope defines everything about my day in very vague terms. It may list one of my attributes, but it is an attribute that many people probably have. I know I am not the only quiet person that I know. That is how many of these horoscopes manage to get away with seeming relevant, when really it is just a description someone typed out, using vague, nondescript terms to define what someone may encounter that day. This would make it much easier to get a “hit” with various people, since the description is so vague that many people actually fit into it quite easily.
3. If an intelligent alien did indeed visit this planet and came over to your house, what do you think he would find most odd about human behavior?
If an intelligent alien visited Earth and then came over to my house, the thing that alien may find most perplexing about human behavior is our vainness. Instead of everyone thinking how they could make the world a better place, they would rather gossip about how ugly some celebrity’s clothes were that day. Instead of wondering what they can do today to have fun, enjoy life, or make themselves better, all they can do is talk about how they cannot believe that Jane Doe is actually going out with John Doe. I think the alien would find it odd that no matter where they looked, everyone is too busy sizing each other up to enjoy what they have. It is the same everywhere, in workplaces, in neighborhoods, in politics, in schools, and especially on the Internet, a device created to link everyone in the world together and create new, exciting things.

David Castro Philosophy 8 Film Test 4/ 0922 1. A little over a year ago my grandmother had passed away, leaving my mother in a grieving state of mind for quite some time, even after the funeral. There would be times when she would wake up in the middle of the night, and by the foot of her bed she would see the my grandmother. My mother would tell us that when see would make eye contact with my grandmother's ghost she would say, "everything will be alright, mija." To explain this paranormal experience in a rational sense, I belive that my mother was just under so much stress. The strain on her mind working in conjunction with her drowsy state of concious, as she wakes up in the middle of the night, may have had caused the effect of seeing such a ghost. Lastly, I do think the Chandian Effect applies to this scenario, as it was my grandmother whom my mother was grieving for, and would have certainly wanted to see her one last time.
2. Browsing through the internet for my daily horoscope (I am a Cancer), there seemed to be a myriad of different interpretations until I found one that pertains to my personality. My horoscope for March 21, 2015, provided by Tarot.com, tells me to refrain from impulsive decision making, but instead react with a little more common sense throughout my day. This horoscope holds a certain degree of truth, for earlier in the day I made an impulsive purchase on Ebay. I had wanted to buy this peculiar band shirt which was being sold by one particular user and which quickly became the last one on stock. I could have waited a little longer in hopes of paying a little less for the shirt once there were made much more available, but I couldn't help the urge and so I made the purchase. I think a critical thinker would explain the horoscope in such a way as to pointing out the vagueness of its composition. There is no particular scenario or event that the horoscope lists, yet it is written in such a way as to enable the reader to extrapolate a specific event within their life-- no matter how subtle or blatant-- and apply it to the general message that is being portrayed.
3. If an intelligent extraterrestrial had visited my home, I think the one human characteristic it would find odd would be a human’s propensity to own a domesticated animal. Once stepping foot into my home, I think the aliens would immediately think that my family is a bit irrational for keeping our dogs confined within the boundaries of our own home. To them it may seem that animals of any species should belong in the wild, unrestrained by the boundaries that even my backyard poses. To them, it is in the wild where my dogs are most enabled to express their natural instincts -- such as their predatory nature and also their ability to transverse far lands along with their packs -- just like their ancestors have done thousands of years ago. But not even the confinement of my dogs would seem too drastic, for once they first lay their eyes on the fish tank in my room, the very minimal confines of a 10 inch wide fishtank would seem inhumane. To them the fish in the tank, just like any other aquatic animal, deserve to call the vastness of the world’s bodies of water their home. To sum up their perspective, they may feel that no amount of human enjoyment would serve to justify the domestication of animals.

1. Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Or, do you know of someone who claims to have had one? How would you explain it rationally? Does the Chandian Effect apply?

3. If an intelligent alien did indeed visit this planet and came over to your house, what do you think he would find most odd about human behavior?
1.) Honestly, I cannot say whether I have experienced a paranormal encounter because I never really thought if paranormal encounters were real or not. But it seems like most of my friends and family have had their fair share of experiences whether it was a ghost, alien, or U.F.O. While I cannot say that ghosts and aliens are not real, I can say that there must be a reason or an explanation of why a person would see a ghost or alien. I have always followed my own philosophy that everything in this universe must have an explanation behind it because nothing in this really happens just because it happened. So with people encountering ghosts and other paranormal activities, they always know what happened to them but never go into great detail of why that experience happened.
2.) My astrological sign is a Virgo and pretty much my horoscope of the day was to double check everything and to also runaway from any kind of gossip that would be told in the office. First thing is that I do not work in an office because I do not have a job where there are offices. I am just going to flat out say that this horoscope was not for me because no horoscope is meant for just one person, its for anyone who has the same astrological sign. Many people who often do not believe in astrology and its many other counter parts have ways of figuring out why a person would believe in a daily horoscope.
3.) Then there’s always the possibility of aliens landing on Earth which could also be in the back yard of my house, and if it were to walk around a city and it saw what people are and how people interact with each other, to the alien it would be very odd because the alien has no idea what a human is or what a human even looks like.

Code: 0922 The one paranormal experience i have had was actually quite frightening. I don't believe in ghost but i do tend to prefer to live on the side of caution, meaning that I aim to seek a (oxymoronically) “live and let live” policy. I recall waking up around 3 in the morning, thinking to myself “why am I awake”? Making the most of the situation I decided to relieve myself in the restroom. As I slide back beneath the covers I heard a “BOOM BOOM BOOM” at the bottom of the wooden stairs in my house. Again I heard the “BOOM BOOM BOOM” as if someone was running up the stairs but taking their sweet time to do so, as the spacing between each sequence was about 5 seconds. The thing that scared me the most was that I didn't recognize that sequence of climbing up the stairs as each person in my family has a specific sound when climbing up the stairs, one is slow and lumbering, another is medium pace but heavy, the other is medium pace and medium weight, whereas I run up the stairs skipping steps (I hate taking the stairs one step at a time). “BOOM BOOM BOOM” the sound came again but with no squeaking of the wood that usually accompanies the sound when going up or down the stairs. There was a grand total of 27 “BOOMS” whereas there are only 19 steps in total to the top of the stairs. The whole ordeal ended immediately after i prayed (im not religious but indeed hypocritically i found a reason to be that day). I mustered the courage to check the stairs (like a dumb ass) and found nothing. Rationally, it could be chalked up to be a prank or rats (one big ass rat). The chandian effect in this case would not apply because there is no obvious reason as to why I would self project in order to scare myself to the point where i would pray.
As a Capricorn I apparently have a lot of creativity and am able to think outside the box. I am also a romantic but have a hard time expressing my feelings to anyone. This year I am looking towards making deeper connections with people and seeking adventures.I would say it fits especially the deeper connections bit. Now to think critically of course the only reason it fits is because of its vagueness and the fact that I think of instances where I lived up to the description rather than looking at the entirety of my life. If I were to look at other horoscopes i would most likely fit into descriptions of those as well.
If an alien visited our planet, and came over to my house I believe he will find most odd that I am paradoxically, chaotically organized. In other words my room is a mess but I know where to find the things that I need. To an alien there would most likely be only two categories organized and un-organized nothing in between. He would also be puzzled that even though I abhor messes I am willing to live in my own for a while and let it stress me out and yet do relatively nothing about it.

Andrew Romo Test 4 Code: 0922 My girlfriend and I both grew up with the same belief system. From a young age we were both taught the miracles experienced during biblical times and all other aspects of Christianity; however, after deviating away from the beliefs imposed on me by my parents and teachers, we now have very different views on the concept of spirituality. A couple of weeks ago we were discussing the idea of spirits and other supernatural things existing. What began with her stating that she believes that she has seen spirits, holy and evil, soon turned into a discussion fueled by our differentiating views. One example she gave was during a lecture in her religion class in high school. While listening to the lecture on demon possessions she said she saw a dark creature hovering over the teacher, and as the story got more intense the creature got bigger and more aggressive. At one point during the lecture she got so scared of the creature that she told the teacher to stop and briefly explained what she saw as she left the room to regain her composure. After listening to her story I tried to explain my view on what she saw from a logical and scientific point of view. I wasn’t disputing the fact that she saw something, but I believe what she saw could have been a number of other things cause by the environment or even her brain. The first idea I suggesting was that she saw a shadow and the increase in size could have to been due to a glare or reflection moving behind a bigger object to create the illusion of the shadow growing, and because of her upbringing in the church and having heard all the stories of spirits and demons she interpreted what she saw as something that she was familiar with. Another possible explanation was that the image was produced by her brain and didn’t exist to anybody else. Sometimes our brain produces external images, which can be explained by the “Chandian Effect”. Similarly, some people have conditions where their brain produces a surplus or deficit of chemicals causing it to function abnoramly. Such instances can explain why Schizophrenics see images and hear noises that others can’t. Needless to say, my girlfriend was adamant about her view and wasn’t persuaded by my arguments. This isn’t the first subject that my girlfriend and I have disagreed on; we are essentially opposites in every aspect of our being. One who believes in astrology would explain that due to our zodiac signs we are incompatible as a couple. While further researching the idea I decided to examine what astrology had to say about the personality traits of an Aquarius, my astrological sign. The results that I found online were pretty accurate in explaining my personality and were almost completely true. One way I could explain this logically is by saying that the people who create these horoscopes are simply taking data that they have accumulated from various sources like surveys and compiled them into a list of the most popular traits that are shared among the majority of each sign’s population. A majority of the people who read their horoscope are bound to find some sort of coincidence with their lives and interpret that information into something that is meaningful to them. To determine what an intelligent alien might think of the human race and how abnormal we live or lives one must first define what an alien is and how different they are than us. Depending on how similar in anatomy or behavior we are will dictate how abnormal we will seem to any outside life form. It’s impossible to know what an alien will find abnormal, but based on how humans act towards each other I think that they would find our view on extraterrestrial life to be weird. I doubt that the image we have created to depict what extraterrestrials might look like is remotely similar to how they actually look if they were to exist. So, I think an intelligent alien would see how we viewed it and inaccurate it is and find it odd.

Enrique Poveda Film Test #4
1. Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Or, do you know of someone who claims to have had one? How would you explain it rationally? Does the Chandian Effect apply?
There are a few instances in my home that have been believed to have been a ghost. My mom once told me that when she was transferring clothes from the washer to the dryer, the dryer door just opened on it's own for her. The door is spring loaded and locks when it's closed, so it's seems unexplainable to how it could have opened on it's own. Both of my sisters had also experienced the same occurrence when they were washing dishes on separate occasions. I never really thought anything of it until it happened to me too. The water was off so the handle was down. As I reached to open the faucet to rinse off the dishes I had just scrubbed, the handle went up on it's own and the water turned on before I could even touch it. It was really strange because although I was looking at the handle I didn't see the motion of the handle go up. The handle was down and in a split second it was up. It seemed like a moment in time was chopped right out in front of my eyes. I don't think the Chandian effect applies because what happened was tangible. It wasn't any sort of vision that could be explained as created from within, it just kinda happened. For a minute I thought that maybe my mind spaced out and I really did turn the faucet on subconsciously, but my hand was at least 6-8 inches away from touching the handle when it went up on it's own. I think that maybe it could have had something to do with pressure in the plumbing or something that made that happen, but thats the only logical explanation I could think of.
2. Think of your own astrological sign and find a horoscope that pertains to you. Does it fit? How would a critical thinking explain it?
I looked at many different horoscopes for cancer and nothing fit at all. A few of them said some weird crap about my emotions persisting to some moon and venus and I don't know what, it just stopped making sense. A critical thinker would probably explain it as horse shit. Nonetheless they seemed to promote positivity and productivity which might be uplifting for some people, but I like to stay productive and positive no matter what a horoscope wants to tell me about how my life and feelings are.
3. If an intelligent alien did indeed visit this planet and came over to your house, what do you think he would find most odd about human behavior?
I think it's unexplainable to say what they might find odd about humans aside from the fact the we exist. To an alien, we would be aliens. They might think we look weird if we look any different than an alien does, but how do we even know what an alien looks like? How do we know how the planet of a specie of aliens operates? Maybe their planet is developed with cities, suburbs, oceans, lands, and whatever else similar to ours. They might find it weird that we have McDonald's and not McMartian's or something. What an alien would find weird about us would depend on what aliens have in their life. Anything that is coined as odd is essentially anything foreign to anyone.

Film Test 4
1. Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Or, do you know of someone who claims to have had one? How would you explain it rationally? Does the Chandian Effect apply?
One somewhat paranormal experience that I had was when I was in my early teens. It was late at night, everyone in my house had already went to bed, and I went to take a shower, turning off all the lights in the empty rooms of the house before doing so. When I got out of the shower, the dining room light was now on. I then asked everyone if they had turned the light on, and they said “no”. I think what might have really happened is that one of them got up to get a drink of water or something, and accidentally left the light on, and being half-asleep when I questioned them, forgot about it. I don’t think the Chandian Effect applies in this situation.
2. Think of your own astrological sign and find a horoscope that pertains to you. Does it fit? How would a critical thinking explain it?
I don’t think my horoscope fits me very well. When I look at my horoscope, it doesn’t really match what is really occurring in my life. Additionally, when I read about the general characteristics associated with my astrological sign, half of them don’t accurately describe my personality. I think that horoscopes are vague, and a lot of the stuff they say can be loosely applied to a large group of people, with a variety of astrological signs, at any given time. I also find it sketchy that a person’s daily horoscope varies from one source to the next. I think that there are a variety of logical explanations to explain the occurrences when a horoscope does correctly predict something.
3. If an intelligent alien did indeed visit this planet and came over to your house, what do you think he would find most odd about human behavior?
I think if an intelligent alien visited this planet and came to one of our houses, he would find many of our human behaviors very odd. One thing that might stand out is our dependence and overuse of technology, such as social media, the internet, our cell phones, etc. Some other things he might find strange is our tendency to sleep so much (when possible), our hiccupping, some of our practices of doing life-endangering actions for the purpose of thrill & excitement, and our thirst for drama.

1.Drawing from the movie "we are all scientists" describe several incidents in your own life where you thought and acted scientifcally be sure to detail how your thoughts or actions were scientific.
one way i think scientifcally is every morning when i take a shower i just don't turn on the water a jump right in because if i did that the water would be really cold; so instead i wait and test the waters tempature every few minutes with my hand and i do this over and over until it reach my desired tempature. another way i acted in a scientifc way is when I cook something when I'm cooking I first get all the ingredients to make the food a then I start measuring and began to cook and once I'm done I taste the food to see if its just the way a like it and if its not I just add a little more ingredients. another way is when I'm playing a game like chess when I'm playing chess I first to make sure to observe the whole board before I make any moves and when I do I try and think of my next move and sometimes at the beginning of the game I would sacrifice some of my piece just to see how the other player would react or they to set them up for a counter move. I notice I think scientifically when I try and find a solution to a certain problem especially math when I'm faced with a problem I am having trouble with first I look at the whole problem then I look at my notes then start trying out few different solution that I think will solve the problem and eventually I with find that solution.
2.using the movie "voodoo voodoo" as your prompt, have you in your life ever used "magical formula" (from prayers to montras to chants to childhood rythems, etc) to secure what you wanted to protect yourself, etc? feel free to tell your recollections in story form how would you todya rationally explain how and why it worked?
when I transferred my senior year to west Covina I made the varsity basketball team and when I was there I started to do what you call a ritual before every game I played and the first thing I would do is go to a friends house and eat something then after I ate something I would take a nap a wake up an hour before the game started and then I would put on my headphones and start listening to two songs that always got me in the right mood to play the game and I would listen to these two songs when I walked to gym then when I get to the gym thirty minutes early I would enter the locker room and do the same routine stretches then I headed out the play the game. I started to do this routine after I had on of my best games as a high school player and I did this routine for the rest of the season.
3.Calvno's Schuffle is an important metaphor. why should it be guiding principle when claiming something for certain? give example.
thinking about the Calvino's Schuffle I always think of when me, my brother and my dad argue about sports most the time about basketball its either about player or team stats or about a certain teams history and when we get into these arguments they get pretty heated but to settle every argument we turn to the internet to get the correct answer. as for me I take pride in know my sports so when I get in to these argument with my dad or brother I'm usally the one getting the better of them but on occusion they get the best of me and when that happen I don't really like it and sometimes I try to turn the conversation to something else or a make up something I know they don't know for sure either. so the question is why do this and not just admit I'm wrong and they are right because would you like to be proven wrong in something you take pride in and you studied for most of your life and admit your wrong to someone? I don't think you will.

1.“Paranormal Experience”
When I was on the internet I found picture with a list of occurrence that happened to parents that titled, “Creepy things my child said to me.” The list contents mysterious and creepy statements which raised goose bumps to the reader and to the parent. One of them was when a child was being awaken by her grandfather, which was dead for over 8 years. She recalls being awaken by the same person for a while. The way I would explain this would be her imagination, it is her imagination that is triggering this response, though I am sure there are other explanation as to why this happens. Chandian apply to this instance because there is a subjective projection of a person, who the mother was close to.
2.“Astrological Star”
My astrological star would be Leo, and the horoscope states I am having a closer relationship with someone, and I wanted to know the truth with that relationship, but you slow down and do not ask the truth, which might lead to something bad or ruin the relationship. The horoscope somewhat match with my situation. Critical thinkers would explain this by somehow getting lucky with their explanation. I think they have asked around and asked people how they felt and have used that information for others.
3.“Alien Invasion”
If an alien lands on earth and came over my house and find the oddest human behavior, I think it would be the fact that we look nothing like them. The anatomy and physiology of their body is unknown to us and our anatomy and physiology is unknown to them. Their body’s functionality would be it and another odd human behavior is the way humans feel emotion or make emotions. We assume that aliens are emotionless, while humans are way too emotional. Aliens would not be able to predict how a human’s feeling and we can figure the alien’s emotions.

0922. 1) The paranormal experiences that I have had have been very minimal compared to the ones that my boyfriend has had. In his house which we believed to be haunted, we have heard several bustling around hearing what appeared to be someone in the kitchen but in fact we were the only people present in the house. However, he has seen in several instances people walking, standing and staring. Once when we were home alone he looked to his room door in which he saw an old woman standing staring at us as we laid in bed. Since he knew I am anxious he did not mention anything until the image was gone. When he spoke of the image he said it was an old women dressed in black and white that only stared at us for almost 30 seconds. The rational explanation would be that his brain drew an image from anything that he can remember and mere imagination was the image drawn. However I do not believe the Chandian effect applies because it cannot represent himself, because we are to understand that the Chandian effect is a representation of ourselves that is why we project images into the world. 2) My astrological sign is Sagittarius and in many way my sign does pertain to me and at many moments in time I have felt that it spoke to me directly. Which can be surprising because I could think of how in the world would this one “sign” know exactly how my day would have gone! However apophenia plays a large part into these moments we attempt to find meaning into what is not there. And patternicity where we find patterns in meaningless “noise” and we tend to that when something is saying that it is speaking directly to us we find ways to correlate it to our lives, which is why psychics can still make a living. As well the fitting could be easily explained by just making broad statements one is bond to feel connected to something of them in some way or another and thus feel it was completely directed to them. However we always tend to disregard our horoscope when it does not relate to us. 3) If an alien were to come to house and observe the human race what I believe that they would find the most odd about human behavior, would be the way that we treat one another. Because the way that I see human treat each other now is horrible. We are rude, careless and selfish people that put ourselves before anything or anyone. Yet we ultimately desire to be loved or wanted, which seems to be the strangest problem that we humans have, we are selfish but we want to be loved as though we are not. I think the alien would find it odd that we show each other such little respect, we laugh or others when they are down and we set an expectation for them to bring themselves up with what we call will power, but forget that will power does not count for much unless you have the means of reaching it, which is money. I think the alien would see us as terrible creatures because we demand so much and give so little whether to Earth and its ability to keep us alive, or to the people that we have placed in charge, and how quickly we forget that these people are just like everyone else and the only reason why they are seen as different is because we allow them to be seen that way.
