Using Star Trek metaphor:
Spock -logic; reason; heartless
I am a great listener, I have this co worker, who constantly tells me about her and her ex boyfriend which is also her baby's father. He has a job that doesn't pay well, but is able to get around and do things and he has a new girlfriend. So of course my friend is not happy. She says he gives her little money for their son, and only see's him twice a week. She works full time, she lives with roommate's and goes to school full time. She is doing what she has to do. I have told her numerous times to look for aid and hold her ex boyfriend accountable financially. She always said no I can't do that. WHY??? So finally she was complaining that he said she couldn't text him anymore because his girlfriend was getting mad. I am done hearing about this awful person who just doesn't care and takes advantage. So I the heartless friend suggest, lets go to the aid office, and turn this guy in. I have never been in this situation, but I tell her my feelings on her situation, which I didn't want to have to do. But hey who is going to tell her. She didn't get mad at me, nor has she seek help, but I continue to push her.
Kirk: emotional; Heartstrings
An emotional time for me was at 19 one of my best friends had passed away. I experienced many deaths by age 19, mostly family. But when my best friend Ester passed, it wasn't the same experience. Me and Esther went to high school together, and after high school we signed up for MT. Sac. I would pick her in La Puente and drive her to school, we would go our own ways to class. And meet after class to go home. Esther was really shy, unlike me. But she liked my friendship, so we always did a lot together. I would take her to my house and my parents would make dinner but she never wanted to eat with everyone at the table. So my parents allowed me to take her plate into my room. Lucky because we were not allowed to eat in any room. Esther got pregnant at 18 had her baby girl at 19, stayed very close to her baby's father. Which then I the best friend was pushed aside. 3 Months after Jazmine was born, Esther passed away, it was a sudden death. She passed from blood clot bursting which caused immediate death. It was not an easy phone call to answer nor service to attend. I lost my best friend.
Scotty: react; Heartbeats
One sunny Afternoon, me and my partner were apartment hunting, we came to the city Covina. We passed some really cute duplex's. She was on the phone so I really couldn't give her my opinion of the surroundings or duplex. As we turn the corner I turn my head and see an elder woman on the floor. Yes I said on the floor. I yell "STOP", she slams the brakes on I run out straight to the elderly lady on the floor. I tell her from behind, I saw that you fell and I was driving by so I stopped to help you. I didn't want to alarm her, some freak trying to pick her up. I asked her if she can get up, and I helped her sit up. A woman from one of the duplex's ran out to her rescue. And kind of brushed me away and helped her up the rest of the way and walked her in. Completely ignoring me. But I was the hero!!!!
Give 2 examples of Coincidences
Coincidence 1
My grandma passed away, she loved bingo. Before she passed she played bingo and won 3 dimes. Since she passes we (my immediate family) seem to find dimes in the oddest places, so of course we associate finding dimes with my grandma. But very happy to find them, because maybe she was thinking about us. I work in Chino, since I been in that area, a lot of buildings been built as well as new restaurants. The closest eatery or "spectrum" is less than 5 minutes from my job. There's a starbucks, subway, red ribbon bakery, newly added Dickies bbq. There's outdoor seating, really nice patio area, with a nice waterfall shaped like a small pyramid, music and at Christmas time they replace the pyramid like water fall with a very large Christmas tree. Well that besides the point, one crisp morning I sat outside enjoying a starbucks coffee. Going into a daze, enjoying the outside, and break from work. I happen to look at the pyramid shape waterfall, and its one of those waterfalls where people throw money maybe make a wish and the coin falls to the bottom of the pond. Well not this time, something shiny was sitting half way down the pyramid shape waterfall. I thought, I can get up walk over there and see what's blinding me or just forget about I mean who cares a shiny blinding something in the pyramid shaped waterfall. So of course I get up and see its a DIME. A dime out of all shiny silvery things, its a dime. Not a piece of foil or quarter or nail. But a dime, you don't often find dimes you find pennies. Find a penny pick it up and all day long you have good luck. It could've been anything or maybe I didn't look that way. But I did. Coincidently I was there at the right time to find that dime. I have attached a picture, it wasn't of this incident but gives you an idea of how and where it happen.
Small coincidence #2
I live 47 miles away from work, so I stay in La Puente at my parents house, which is a lot closer and convenient when I am coming and going to and from school and work. There has been several times where I am sitting and thinking I wonder what my partner is doing. So I text her hey what are you doing. At that very second I receive a text from her asking the same thing, hey what are you doing. Then my next text from her is LMAO I was just going to text to. Its almost scary we think exactly alike. But what a coincidence right?
