Christian Lomeli Lane Critical Thinking 8 9-12-15 I was fixing my pool heater and there was no power-breaker on, switched/clicked on – no light no power. I go look at the electrical connections five wires are disconnected. I look at the cables and just use simple rational red with red, black with black logic. I tried it and it worked. Saved me about $300.00 and having to call an electrician. The second time I was trying to fix my home internet the wireless connection kept dropping. I went to source, reset it and was still not working, I disconnected and reconnected the router, modem, and PC still no internet. Then I went to the PC, and pressed the little wireless button and voila got it going.
I have used a saying like voodoo voodoo. But mine is more of a way to calm myself from doing irrational things. I have been in some bad situations (self inflicted). Then find myself playing the outcomes in my mind. I close my eyes and picture my children (I don’t say anything). I then I usually feel at ease and can remove myself from bad situations.
It’s important to realize that people with different set of rules, values and upbringings. Calvino’s shuffle metaphor allows us to se that although we may think we are playing a game we are actually getting played. Therefore, we should open our minds to see and think outside of our paradigms
