PHIL 8
1. I agree with the argument on Veganism because I myself am not fan of meat but I can not call myself a vegetarian because I do occasionally eat chicken breast. This is a controversial topic because people believe we need to eat certain things to survive. We as humans do feel pain and now we do through experiences. We do tend to relate and have mercy on those animals that relate most to us as humans. We don’t eat apes or dolphins simply because we do not see them as food and have human like behaviors. Does this mean we don’t eat them because it reflects back to us? Since we are the highest I the food chain we decide what is morally acceptable to consume and what is not. Just like the video mentioned if we were no longer at the top of the food chain and some more powerful creature of being would to surpass us humans, wouldn’t that possible just makes us food. Like the example of the twilight zone with the aliens. I consider us humans as bullies and selfish creatures whom we don’t take into consideration the pain of those who aren’t like us. Lions, Sharks, Bears they are giving the title animals because of the way they behave, they kill to protect to survive its instinct to them, Animals don’t have the ability to reason but we as human do and we make the decisions to kill certain animals. We don’t need to eat things with brains unlike animals we have can survive without it. With that being said, Aren’t we the real animals?
2. The reminder conjecture is simply the way in which things have to be analyzed and thought through by science and psychical evidence before we can assume anything paranormal out of the norm. Self-awareness plays a big part in qualia. “Every action has a reaction.” This quote seems to fit in with this topic since a lot of the time everything has a explanation. It isn’t until we rule out all scientific possibilities that we then jump into the spiritual path. For example someone may think that the nosies they hear at night of chairs moving, drawers closing and even voices as paranormal activity. This could be true. Except that they never take into consideration that if the house in big enough or constructed a certain way that causes echo’s to bounce off the walls therefore when there is no movement or extra mass the sound mildly are head.
3. If we are no different then a spec of rice then that says that we go way back then we can imagine and that we’ve developt so much with time. It is no surprise that even now we still wonder where we came from and how we’ve evolved. We, our bodies, action are all traces of our past that we have brought up till now.
