Film Exam #3
1. I work at an elementary school as a teacher’s aide for a special needs class. It is a combination class of fourth and fifth grade, so the kids range from the ages of 8-10. Now, I have my set of kids that I teach a few subjects to and of course, children being children, they always fool around or the doze off. To get them on track I’ve made up this lie telling them that “I have eyes behind my head,” and that I can see everything that they are doing. Most of the kids in my group believed me, but of course there was one skeptic that wished to test my “abilities.” He told me, “Ms. Torres, it’s impossible that you have eyes behind your head,” and I told him “Nothing is impossible, and yes I do have eyes behind my head. If you wish to test my abilities then go ahead and act up when I have my back turned to you. If I don’t catch you on what you’re doing then you get away with it, but if I do catch you then you must pull a card for being disruptive during the lesson.” Pulling a card is a behavioral correcting strategy that we use at the school. This shows the children that if they pull a card it will be recorded and sent home for a parent to sign. As I went on with my lesson and was writing on the white board I can sense, the child that questions my “abilities,” to move around in a rapid pace. I then say “E***** please plant your bottom on the chair.” He then said, “Ms. Torres, how did you know I was out of my chair?” I then told him, “I have eyes behind my head, remember?” He was so shocked that after that he never fooled around during a lesson and the other kids did not either since they witnessed my “abilities” in person. The logical explanation for this is that I know these children to the “T” that I know all of their tendencies and their behaviors. I use that to be more aware when teaching a lesson, to make sure they are all paying attention. To this day they all believe that I’m this magical being that has the “ability” to see everything when I’m not physically looking at them.
People create ideas that deem “special” to them, but it’s only “special” because that’s how the person preserves it. It may not mean any significance to another person, but to that person it withholds the greatest significance. It may be so significant that it can become powerful in that person’s mind and they discard all logical reasoning behind all of it. For example, my father came from Cuba and the religion that followed him, and practiced, was Santeria. As a child I was exposed to this and believed in all the tales and required things that my dad had to do for the religion. My dad kept a shrine that he prayed to in a closet in my house and he kept figurines or Saints in there. Whenever it was one of those Saints birthday, he would cook a huge feast on that day for their remembrance. So, he’d cook and we would all eat and he always set a plate aside for the Saint. He believed that if you gave the Saint food they would eat it in the other realm. So, one day he put the plate of food in front of the closet, where he kept the figurines, and left it there. Now, we have a dog that absolutely loves food, so of course he strolls by the closet and ate up the plate of food. My dad walked by the closet a few hours later and came running towards my mom and I saying that he wanted to show us something. We walked us over to the closet and explained to us that the Saint had eaten the food because it was gone. My mother and I both knew what really happened and tried to explain to my dad what really went on and that, Peewee, my dog had eaten it. He did not believe us; he believed that the Saint he cooked for had eaten it. He considered it a blessing that the Saint’s were so willing to be open enough to actually consume the food; physically. He is blinded by the beauty of the religion that he is not open to the logical possibilities of the outcomes of the actions that took place, which was my dog who ate the food.
2. As the film said, “The brain is not designed to see the universe as is,” for I agree with this statement because we as human beings often experience situations that we simply do not understand or cannot explain. On the other hand, we do tend to see some events as “magical” when it can simply be an allusion, but we either chose to be closed minded or simply don’t see what logical explanation could be for those events happening. I for one can admit to this happening many times in my life. For example, just last week I went to the dealer to get my car serviced, as I was waiting for my car to be done I became hungry. I then walked over to the vending machine they had in the waiting room. It was one of those new vending machines that take credit cards too. As I walked over to the machine a lady went before me getting a candy bar. I saw that she paid with a credit card. When she finished I then looked and choose what I wanted. I punched in the letters and numbers of which item I wanted and I was getting ready to insert my cash. Then a strange thing happened and I received the chips that I wanted for free. I looked at the machine confused because I did not enter my money, and of course I tried to get more free things so I tried again and I received the candy bar for free. I thought it was my lucky day until I stopped myself and thought why was I getting all these snacks free? Was I lucky or was the machine broken. These things I thought and I decided to look at the machine and I saw the credit card swipe and a little message said, “Do you wish to purchase more with this card?” I then stopped and realized that the women who went before me had her credit card information in there still. She forgot to select an option to end the transaction. I felt so guilty after that and went to look for her to tell her, but she was gone. Overall, it was not luck that I had, but there was a reason to why I got to get all those snacks for free. Or in this case, charged to another person.
Another example, many years ago when I was in high school my friend had one the latest phones out. She was getting familiar with all its cool gadgets and apps. At that time, I had one of the oldest model phones because I was tight on money, so it was a flip phone. I did not have nearly as many features on it. Also, to begin with I was never tech savvy. Anyways, my friend decided to show me a video that she took. Prior to playing it she tells me, “I have powers; I have the ability to make things disappear!” Of course I did not believe her. She then tells me that she has proof and she gestured to the phone. I told her to show me her “proof.” She then played a video of her making a cup disappear. I was slightly shocked because it look real, but I knew it had to be fake. I then asked her to make my pencil disappear in person. She refused to do so because she did not want anyone to know. She acted to concerned about keeping her powers a secret. At that point, seeing that she looked so serious about it, I started to little by little believe her. The moment I told her that I wouldn’t tell anyone about it she started to laugh and told me that she was messing with me. I felt so foolish but she told me that she simply recorded the cup on the table and the paused the recording and removed the cup and continued to record, which gave that effect of it disappearing. It showed me that there is an explanation for anything.

FILM QUESTIONS // 4 #1964
(1) Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Or, do you know of someone who claims to have had one? How would you explain it rationally? Does the Chandian Effect apply?
I don't know if I want to say that this was a paranormal experience for me, but when I was very young me and my sister was sleeping this one night. She knocked out and I was having trouble going to sleep ( going in and out of sleep). While trying to close my eyes, I could have sworn I saw this dark shadow entering the bedroom window (that happen to be closed) and this shadow was hovering above us. I was laying sideways and I felt this dark shadow's presence and I wanted to move or adjust my body so I can look at it properly, but I was too chicken to. I just kept trying to shake my sister so she could wake up and to tell her there is something in the room, but this chick could not wake up if her life depended on it. The shadow was just hovering above us what seemed to be forever, feeling its presence and all, I tried to just close my eyes and pretend to go asleep so it can go away. Then suddenly the shadow "flew" away out of the window and into the darkness. I think the reason I had that experience was because my body was tired. I may have experienced a night terror. I felt like I was awake, but asleep at the same terror....almost like an out of body experience. I can't really explain. I don't think the Chandian Effect applies because though this was a "paranormal experience" I don't recall any events through out the day that would makeup or create this illusion of a shadow entering the room and feeling its presence hovering over us.
(2) Think of your own astrological sign and find a horoscope that pertains to you. Does it fit? How would a critical thinking explain it?
I am a Capricorn and the horoscope that was reading about myself said, "an important development in the days ahead will usher in a new beginning for you....in an area of your life that really needs a change. If you aren't hopeful this part of your life will get better then you may not recognize this development when it begins." I don't read daily horoscopes at all but I would like to say that this was kind of spot on. This "development" they are talking about I feel may be about work. I have been feeling like there needs to be some changes at work because I feel our company has not been consistent with some of their beliefs and policies. There is some changes that are happening in the company that I work for and I always tell my boss that I'm trying to be positive and keep and open mind...it's just very hard. I think that a critical thinker would explain that people always feel there needs to be changes everywhere and anywhere in life and that everybody can experience changes and or new beginnings on a daily bases. What ever those changes may be you always have to keep a positive attitude as well as an open mind....or in the horoscope's words, to be "hopeful."
(3) If an intelligent alien did indeed visit this planet and came over to your house, what do you think he would find most odd about human behavior?
I think that if an intelligent alien were to visit my house I think it would find my little nephew (who is 4 years old) and my little niece (who is going to be 2) to be very strange. I think that the alien seeing "miniature" size humans acting out, crying, and being all routy would actually scare off the alien because they are so small, so loud, and so full of energy. In these ages they are still trying to develop certain motor, cognitive, and speech and language skills that an alien would find it strange that they don't know a lot or they sound funny when they talk or move awkwardly.

Code 64247 1. Provide two or more examples of "Gumby Land" thinking in your own life or from someone you know. Feel free to tell it in story form.
When I was a sophomore in high school, I was around 15 years old, my friend and I were getting ready for our basketball game at her house. While she was in the restroom, she had asked me if I could take her clothes out the dryer. So I did and I was helping her fold her laundry and I put it away. Later, she asked me if I folded a white muscle shirt with a hole around the armpit area. I didn’t recall folding that specific shirt. So I was helping her look for the shirt. I noticed that she became upset, because she couldn’t find the shirt. I asked her if the shirt was special to her and why? She told me that the white muscle shirt with the hole around her armpit area was her “lucky” shirt. She liked to wear it underneath her jersey. I tried to cheer her on, because our ride was outside to pick us up and the shirt was nowhere to be found. That day she played so awesome, she kept scoring 3’s and stealing the ball and she was not wearing her “lucky” shirt. I think it was all in her head.
Another example, when I go to the casino, I notice that people who are winning always touch their slot machine as if they were praising or blessing the machine to give them more money. I find it extremely awkward. However, I was observing this individual one night and she kept touching her slot machine, and the machine kept giving her money. I think she walked away with 2,000 dollars on the 25 cent slot machine. I tried it a couple times but I doesn’t seem to work on me.
Referring back to the casino, every time my boyfriend and I go to the casino. He likes to start with the same slot machine and every time he sits in that slot machine, it never fails, he always wins at least 300$. He tells me that is not the slot machine that brings him luck. Is the fact that I “don’t believe” him. I always tell him that he’s not going to win anything, and he sure proves me wrong. The last time we went to the casino, he was having a rough night, because not one slot machine was giving him money. So when we were about to leave, he wanted to play the 1$ slot machines that my mom likes to play. I told him that he was out of his mind he had already lost like 250$ and there was no way he was going to win, and that’s when he kissed me and said ‘thank you”. Sure enough he put 100$ on the 1$ slot machine and it kept giving him money. It gave him a total of 1,800$. I want to believe that my “negativity” brings him luck.
2. Describe two or more examples from your own life where you have been caught by "maya" and how did you extricate yourself from such a delusion? You may also use examples from others you know. One example where I have been caught by “maya” was when I was driving home with my boyfriend it was around 1 in the morning. We were going up a hill and it was very cold. When out of nowhere a white cloud appeared from the ground. I immediately freaked and my boyfriend said “I saw that too”. So I knew I was not crazy. I don’t believe in ghost but when I told my mom about it she said that it was just fog, because we were going uphill. So I don’t know how my boyfriend and I would explain that delusion we saw pop out the ground out of nowhere.
Another example, when I was around 15 years old, I felt asleep on my mom’s bed. I remember waking up to a sound of a bell, but when I immediately awoke from that sound, my body couldn’t wake up. It felt as if someone was pressing on my head. As soon as I gain my reflexes back, I got up and ran to the living room to tell my mom about it. She said that maybe I was dreaming. I don’t know until this day, because I felt a great amount of energy behind me, as if someone was standing behind me pressing on my head. I don’t know if she believed me, but I definitely can’t prove my delusion.

1. Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Or, do you know of someone who claims to have had one? How would you explain it rationally? Does the Chandian Effect apply?
I personally have never had a paranormal experience; however, a few people have had the same paranormal experience in my house about seeing a little girl in a long white dress with long hair. My grandmother, my father’s friend, boyfriend, and aunt had all experience this paranormal activity of this little girl in a white dress standing in the kitchen. It seems as though the paranormal experience occurs every few years. My grandmother was the first to experience this when I was young, my father’s friend experienced it three years after, my boyfriend in 2013 and my aunt just recently experienced it last month. Rationally, I think the paranormal experience of the presence of this little girl in a white dress was due to the time of the day. They all experienced it late at night which indicates that they were most likely sleepy or tired when the occurrence of the girl happened. Their minds were not fully functioning due to the time and it generated crazy thoughts and ideas; however, this is just all a hallucination. The Chandian effect does apply here.
2. Think of your own astrological sign and find a horoscope that pertains to you. Does it fit? How would a critical thinking explain it?
My astrological sign is a Cancer and my horoscope for today is not relevant to me. Majority of the time, the horoscope never applies to me. Whenever I look up my horoscope, it just does not make any sense. Of course, it would apply to other cancers, but not me.
3. If an intelligent alien did indeed visit this planet and came over to your house, what do you think he would find most odd about human behavior?
If aliens were to visit our planet, I think they would find odd that humans are so dependent on their smart phones. They would think human’s dependency on smart phone is odd because every person are always glued to their phones and could never have a normal conversation with others. Also, the anxiety that people get from being separate or losing their phones will make aliens thinks that humans are weird.

Film test # 4 Code 1957-8
A paranormal experience I had about a year ago when I spent the night at my girlfriends house after we just got home from a friends party. I woke up at night to use the restroom, as I walked out the room I had seen something in the corner of my eye, so I turned and seen a girl with long hair and a white dress, standing in front of the fridge starring at me. I was in complete shock so I ran back to the room and turned the light on and walked out but she was gone. Rationally speaking I can say this is not something that happens often and what I thought I saw was out of me still being drunk. The Chadian effect I feel does apply for the simple fact that I thought I seen something but it was really my mind just putting something there that really wasn’t.
The daily horoscope for Aries on astrology.com says:
“Do you want to live your life your own way, or do you want to figure out how other people expect you to live your life and then put all your energy into living up to what you think their ideal is? If your reputation is your top concern, where on your list of priorities would you put your happiness? Stop making choices based on how you will look in the eyes of others. That doesn't matter in the long run. Do something because it's right for you, today.”
This horoscope does not pertain to me at all because I don't go around asking people how I should live my life, I do whats right for me regardless of what others think. I believe that horoscopes are meant to be applicable if you really look deep enough and find reasoning for it to be. Usually a horoscope only applies if you’re feeling a certain way based off if you spoke with somebody or currently going through something. If an intelligent alien would visit my house, I think they would find it weird how we treat my dog like a human being. Especially how we try to communicate with him even though we know he isn't going to respond to us. I think if aliens were to see the rest of the world outside my house I think they would find it strange how were constantly on our phones or tablets.

Code 1957-8 1. Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Or, do you know of someone who claims to have had one? How would you explain it rationally? Does the Chandian Effect apply? I don’t recall having a paranormal experience or maybe I just don’t like to believe. However, recently about a week ago, my boyfriend’s grandma was in the living room and I couldn’t sleep, so I started to talk to her and I don’t know how it came to subject, but we started to talk about paranormal experiences she had in Mexico. She told me that she grew up seeing things, till this day, she tells my boyfriend’s mom that in our house there is “someone else” in our home with us, I don’t want to believe her, because I sleep and live in this house. However, going back to her story, she was telling me that when she was little she recalls walking to a river with her mother, they would wash their clothes in the river. Out of nowhere she seen a lady crying, she was wearing all black and she was covering her face. She said that no one wanted to believe her, but she was absolutely sure that she seen that lady crying and that is was “death”. I don’t know how I would explain it rationally, because it did not occur to me and I don’t exactly know if the Chandian effect would apply because she did not tell me about other events that occur that same day that would lead to her seeing that women crying by the river. However, I find it strange how we spoke about this subject one week ago and now I have to explain a paranormal experience.
2. Think of your own astrological sign and find a horoscope that pertains to you. Does it fit? How would a critical thinking explain it?
I am a Libra and after reading my daily horoscope, I am completely blown away on how true it is for me. I don’t normally read my daily horoscope, because I don’t think they could actually apply to every Libra in the whole world. However, my horoscope for the weekend of September 26-27th revealed “As the cosmic queen of the balancing act, you understand better than anyone that negotiation and sticking to a schedule are the keys to success…. But rather blow up duties to have a long weekend with family or friends… On Sunday, a full moon and lunar eclipse stirs things up in seventh house of committed relationships, eclipses herald turning points, and this one could bring major next steps to your relationship, like a proposal.” I cannot stress on how real this is for me, I am always extremely busy with work, school, and mommy duties. However, this weekend I completely said “screw school” and instead spend time with my family. I was scheduled to work on Friday, but I decided to give my shift away to another employee to spend time with my family. Tomorrow is my birthday and is also my boyfriend and I anniversary, I don’t exactly know what he is going to give me, but I am not expecting a proposal at all. Who knows… I don’t know how a critical thinker would explain this, maybe the whole moon eclipse may play a role for the way that I’ve been feeling this weekend.
3. If an intelligent alien did indeed visit this planet and came over to your house, what do you think he would find most odd about human behavior?
If an intelligent alien visit my home, I think he would find odd about human behavior is how technology has taken over this generation. I say this because my boyfriend’s little bothers are always on their phone. They don’t socialize as much as they should. They don’t have face to face interaction with their friends as much as they should. I remember when I was their age, I was outside playing or hanging out with my friends. They depend so much on their phone and spend countless hours on their phone. It is frustrating for me to see them lay on their bed all day, on their phone, letting life pass through them.

Adrian Castilleja 1957-8 Assignment 4
1. No I have never experienced a paranormal activity know of anyone that has or believe in such thing. I like the explanation Dr. Lane told in his classroom. He was talking about religion but can be used for an example. He said hundreds of years ago people would see weird activity and say it was god like. For example, strange lights etc people would recall them as god, mythic creatures. Today we call them aliens and probably in a couple years we’re going to laugh and notice they’re just shooting stars, satellites and planes. You can see how people would believe in such illogical things because of the media, news and movies we have today. 2. “The power issues in a relationship are starting to get to you. It looks like maybe you could use a break from one of the partnerships you're trying so hard to keep in balance. The other person is just not willing to work with you on this thing, and they lack a deep understanding of what you really need -- despite the fact that you have tried to tell them about it time and time again. It's not the end of things, but it is a sign that you both need your space for a while.” I saw this joke and thought it was hilarious. No, it does not pertain to me, but you will see so many dumbfounded people who have relation struggles and believe this and will live by it. 3. I would think everything we do would be strange to an intelligent alien. They do come from a different planet what wouldn’t be strange. They would probably think of humans as scum. Only creatures on this planet that destroy it.

Code 1964 I did have a paranormal experience at my grandparent’s home when I was around 18 years old. I used to stay at my grandparent’s home, which was located in desert hot springs Sky Valley area, a very rural and secluded area many miles outside of Desert Hot Springs. Desert Hot Springs is a smaller city next to Palm Springs. Sky Valley is an unincorporated area with sparse homes for people who don’t like being around other people in my opinion. The home was a two bedroom one bath home in an L shape where the front door led in to a front room with a very small kitchen, then bathroom, and bedroom to the left side and sliding glass door in the middle that led to a add on family room that my grandfather built, and to the right was the master bedroom. The entry room contained a dining room table and fireplace. My grandfather liked his privacy so the outside of the property which was large had pine trees and other bushes and trees to obscure the property from the dirt road that led to it from the main street several miles off the main road. This area didn’t get much rain but it did get a lot of wind and reached extreme heat, lighting storms were common. Wildlife was abundant in this area. This could have been a very spooky location but I never thought of it that way because it was my favorite grandparent’s home we called it the funny farm. We always had that you should be a little crazy to be a McDaniel attitude. I used to spend one or two weeks every summer out there with my sister and cousins visiting and always looked forward to it. I was older now and I had not stayed the traditional week or two out at my grandparents for a couple of years due to extracurricular activities in high school and I believe I was working now at this time. So I was visiting for the weekend. My dad also lived here with them and I would come out to see him just as much as I was coming to see my grandparents. I was sleeping in the small bedroom by myself which was uncommon for me, I would normally sleep in the family room or TV room where everyone would congregate during the day, but my dad wanted me to have the bed. It was about 4:30 am and I needed to use the bathroom so I got up and walked in to the bathroom leaving the bathroom door open since no one was up I didn’t want to make any extra noise by closing a squeaky door plus I was going to be in and out so what was the point. The bathroom contained a nightlight that was bright enough to aluminate the hallway and bathroom to the point that I could see the front door and rocking chair that stood next to the front door. There was a full length mirror on the outside of the bathroom door and the bathroom contained two sinks with a mirror that ran the length of the double sink. When I finished peeing I flushed the toilet and started washing my hands in the sink closest to the toilet. Since the full sized mirror was on the outside of the bathroom door and the door opened inward, if you looked in to the mirror over the sink the reflection would bounce off the mirror on the door and you could see all the way down the hall in to the front room and see the front door. Well when I looked up and the time I was washing my hands I saw a man standing down the hall who was pale with greyish white hair. It was most definitely a male but it didn’t appear to be my grandfather but I think at that exact moment I wanted it to be because I was a bit embarrassed I had left the door open and the alternative was someone else was in the house who shouldn’t be there. My grandfather always woke up early and would cook breakfast. He was a cook in the Navy and would make huge pancakes one of my favorite things about visiting them. I spoke to him and said “hi grandpa you going to make some pancakes?” Something seemed wrong because he seemed to have an expression less face and I never saw this with him as he always smiled when he saw me. I always felt the favorite as the oldest male child and he was never upset with me except one time I was being a brat. I looked down to shut off the water and walked out to greet him in the kitchen. I was a little nervous because something seemed wrong. I walked around the corner to the kitchen and no one was in there. My dad was sleeping in the family room TV area with the sliding glass door closed. The sliding glass door would literally wake everyone for miles it screeched and was heavy and difficult to open. It had not been opened or closed. I walked in to my grandfather’s room to see if he was awake and both my grandpa and grandma were sound asleep snoring. There was no one else staying in the house at that time. At that moment I was very anxious and scared. I checked the front door the only access in to the part of the house and it was locked with the multiple locks my grandfather had on there. I was always a person who made fun of others for telling me stories about seeing ghosts so I really didn’t want to believe it but needless to say I didn’t go back to sleep and although I was nervous I just went back to the room and closed the door and waited for someone to wake up. The first person to get up was my grandma. I didn’t know how to really broach the subject with her but I had to say something so I told her I saw someone and she looked a little nervous and didn’t want to say anything but she then told me the house was haunted and she had seen a woman. At that moment my dad screeched open the sliding glass door and came in and asked what was going on and my grandmother told him I had seen the ghost. He then said “oh you didn’t know the house was haunted?” and I expressed to him my dissatisfaction with him never telling me this before. He admitted at that point he didn’t want to tell me because he didn’t want me to be scared to stay there. He had seen a woman and so had my grandma. He had also seen a man. It was their impression that it was the ghosts of the previous owners who had passed away not in the home but apparently they had buried some jewelry in a box or some valuables when they lived there that they forgot and my grandfather built over the area where it was supposedly buried. I only stayed there one time after that overnight and unfortunately that was by myself during a lighting wind storm which was just about the most horrifying night I’ve ever spent anywhere. My grandparents moved to Oregon and my dad lived at the home by himself and ended up in the hospital. I needed to go get him but they didn’t release him until the next day so I had to stay the night. This situation was very real for me to the point where I spoke to whatever I saw in the mirror. It was reaffirmed by other eye witness accounts of a similar nature. I guess I could explain the sighting by saying that I was looking forward to my grandfather getting up early and making me some pancakes because I was up and I enjoyed spending time with him. So I was projecting and image of him standing there and I was embarrassed because I left the door open so I suppose my mind could be playing a trick on me that someone was there. I don’t know why it would project someone I had never seen before, but it’s funny that I can explain that my mind was projecting I wanted it to be my grandpa even though it didn’t appear to be him. I don’t feel this is similar to the described Chandian Effect because those examples projected someone they knew or an object they were familiar with. Me projecting on the actual ghost that I wanted it to be my grandpa could be described as the Chandian effect but I knew it wasn’t him and was nervous from the get go, my initial thought was not ghost but intruder, that’s why I wanted it to be my grandfather. I’m even tripping on writing this tale. Strange. My Astrological sign is an Aries, I was born March 31st. Aries are bullheaded, stubborn, leaders, independent, don’t like to take orders, business savvy but lose interest easily strong personalities in everything basically. These all describe me very well. Because I’m Catholic I don’t believe in Astrology and have been told its evil to do so. Ironically as I was writing the word evil the guy on the commercial I’m watching at the same time said evil, coincidence. Anyway I like to look at it as an entertainment and coincidental entertainment value, not sure if that explains it but I like to see if it is describing my actual situation or not for the same entertainment value you got out of the license plate game. I have a paranormal story from my good friend’s mom involving the astrology signs she had hanging in her home when my friend was a young child. Apparently she had several of the signs as ornaments in the home and the kids were constantly sick. One day her mom came by and told her that she wasn’t supposed to have those because they were against the teachings of our faith and they were bringing evil in to the home. She soon after removed them and the kids got healthy. You can explain these scenarios by giving such a broad category of items in these horoscopes they are bound to explain something that it going on in your life. Also I think they are very prevalent in our society so people are bound to follow them in some form even if they don’t believe in them but would know in general what their sign was about and identify with certain well know and described traits. Such as in my case I’m an Aries and we are stubborn so I can explain my stubbornness by saying I’m an Aries so deal with it instead of recognizing I have an issue that needs to be addressed, it gives me an excuse to be a certain way. I know many people who say they don’t believe in this but will use it to justify why they act a certain way. In relation to Alien life forms from another planet I believe that on some level somewhere out there that the possibility of life does exist if the universe is indeed infinite then obviously there is a chance. I think if indeed an alien had the technology to travel from another planet that could sustain life, they would need to be scientifically more proficient that what we know now and probably more socially progressive than we are. Most other animals on the planet live in packs and group together for strength and to produce. We separate ourselves and socially segregate ourselves from each other which hinders our opportunity to reproduce as much as possible with as many mates as possible. I think they would live in more of a hive mentality where things are done as efficiently as possible. On a lighter note I think they would see us drinking milk and wondering why we would consume the milk of another animal to feed ourselves which our bodies weren’t designed to really digest in an efficient way.

Code : 1957-8 1) Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Or, do you know of someone who claims to have had one? How would you explain it rationally? Does the Chandian Effect apply?
I have seven sisters one of them which I won’t mention her name, claimed she got attacked by a demon. She lived in with family friends in their guest house. One night after school she went to sleep in her room and felt a little strange so she grabbed a bible that our dad had gave her when she was a little girl. She opened the bible and set her on her dresser and jumped in bed. As she laid in her bed she felt as if someone else was there with her, so she turned around and to her surprise she saw a big dark figure inside her bed. She ran as fast as she could and screamed on top of her lungs, but absolutely no one heard her. Not even the dog that would bark at basically everything. She says she ran to her car because this thing was following her and she knew it wanted to harm her. She jumped in her car ran over the fence and drove to my older sisters house. My sister older called my dad and to come to pray for her because she was hysterical and said it followed her all the way her house. When he arrived he started to pray for her and they said her leg was twisting and it looked impossible for her to be doing that on her own. The only way I can explain all this in a rationally way is that when my sister was a little girl our dad was catholic and not until she was older he became Christian. My sister continued her faith in the Catholic Church, but she has had bad experienced being forced to change her religion and even being accused of being evil. So I think in her mind she has built up all these bad assertions about herself and has let the Chandian Effect take over in her mind because her experiences altered her reality.
2) Think of your own astrological sing and find a horoscope that pertains to you. Does it fit? How would a critical thinker explain it?
My astrological sing is Virgo and I have found a lot of similarities with the way I am and that sign for example a Virgo exists in the mind, everything is inside. To the world, Virgo represents a calm and collected exterior but on the inside nervous uncontrolled intensity in the mind, trying to figure things out, how to improve everything, analyzing and thinking. Virgo has a constant drive to improve and perfect, this can lead to extreme pickiness and finickiest. They are pure with their motives honest and never malicious and they want to accomplish something. What I have just defined describes me by the dot, it is hard for me not to fall for astrology sometimes. But a skeptic would simply explain why it fits so perfectly how it connect to basically anyone; they would narrow it down to coincidence and how every human behavior has similarities and patterns that connect with one another and when naïve readers read the horoscope we link it with connections in our life, but it’s not necessary factual.
3) If an intelligent alien did indeed visit this planet and came over to your house, what do you think he would find most odd about human behavior?
If an intelligent alien would visit this planet he or she would probably find most odd about human behavior is the way we treat our planet. I think it would probably be difficult from someone outside our world to see the way we as human beings continue to endanger our world by wasting our planets resources. We have no remorse from what we consume, to how we pollute the air we breathe.

Test #5 Code: Coca-Cola sites.google.com/a/student.mtsac.edu/milts-swebsite/?pli=1Draw, from your own life or others’, an experience when you’ve had a conflict between between the subjective of reality and no objective prove.
My father use to tell me that he had a vision that I was going to become a Christian preacher later in the future. I told him that it was a desire that he had since he is a preacher. He says that because he sees that I do not like anything that has to do with any church. In fact, he dislike the fact that I am not following his footsteps, but I tell him that it is not about me being against his will but is more that I simply do not like that stuff. I tell him that I want something completely for my future. Like I said it in the beginning, he one day came to me, very serious, saying that he had a prediction for me, “Milton, you are going to be a preacher.” I tell him, “dad you are possibly right, I could become a preach, but so far i simply dislike that stuff.” The fact of the matter, he might be right about his vision, however, he does not have anything to prove his vision and that is something essential to support his claim. I totally respect that fact that he wants me to be like him, but he is just thinking too much about it that he is even dreaming with that matter. According to him, it is just matter of time for that to happen. I just try to smile at him and say to myself, I wish I did not have the virtue of skepticism, so I can please my dad on this one. Then, after I am not with him, I focus on my own plans for the future, which is become a teacher; in fact, I believe this is my real mission in this life. It is not my intention to disbelieve my father on his vision, but it is his the responsibility to provide me with that evidence so that I can believe his claim.
